Santa Barbara & UCSB Game

Thursday February 14th - Valentines Day

Jill and I drove to the airport, and took a flight down to Orange County - checked into our hotel in Costa Mesa then started on a long drive up to Santa Barbara. It took over 3 1/2 hours because of LA traffic. Jill remembers parts of the trip. She'd wake up, look around and comment how wonderful the area was. (After passing Thousand Oaks...) then fall back to sleep for a bit longer. Then repeat. The SoCal weather was great on her skin and she REALLY likes the ocean being right there. We met Jill's Brother Ken and his wife Cathy at Stearn's Wharf in Santa Barbara for Dinner at the Moby Dick restaurant - overlooking the breakwater and marina. We enjoyed watching the surfers in their wet suits brave the cold water for a bit of adrenaline rush.We then packed up and drove up the 101 a ways to the University of California at Santa Barbara campus to watch the BYU Lacrosse team take on the UCSB team. The crowd was VERY rowdy - rude, crude, and threw stuff. Needless to say not the most enjoyable folks to be around. But we came back in the second half to take charge of the game and that kind of cooled the crowd a bit. (Well, that and the police officers showing up...)Brent did get to play - Yea! and Thanks to Kenny & Cathy we had blankets and jackets to keep warm on a cold windy evening.
Final ScoreBrent's Happy with the Final Score
