1434 - A book about Chinese triggering the Renaissance

In this book the author suggests many of the innovations and scientific breakthroughs of the Renaissance were triggered by a visit from Chinese Fleet to Venice and Florence in 1434. He has some pretty compelling evidence - nice to think about (there are web sites dedicated to de-bunking his ideas though) It was a nice intriguing read.

I've already ordered his other previous novel '1421' about how the Chinese also discovered America 70 years before Columbus...
Food for thought... Here is a Chinese Map from early 1400s... how'd they know all that information?
